Top Reasons Why Employees Quit Their Jobs
British workers spend an average of 3,515 full days at work over the course of their lifetime. This is whittled down to an average of 34 hours and 26 minutes per week, according to the Accountancy Age Salary Survey 2018. Spending such a significant portion of life at work, it is crucial that employees are happy within their roles and enjoy working for their employer.
However, there are always some workers who are more keen to switch than stick. New research, commissioned by working animal charity, SPANA, polled 2,000 workers and found that dreary canteen food, exhausting work timetables and incompetent bosses were among the most common reasons for Brits quitting their jobs - inews.co.uk reports.
Geoffrey Dennis, Chief Executive of SPANA, said that many workers won’t hesitate to jump ships if things aren’t right. He added: “A good work-life balance, minimal stress, a decent salary and an appreciative boss are important for many employees. And handing in your notice is always an option if working life doesn’t live up to expectations.”
